Hand Rejuvenation with Fillers

Hand Rejuvenation Using Fillers | Before & After Restylane Injections

Aging hands are a normal part of the aging process characterized by wrinkles, hollowing of the dorsal web spaces, and prominence of veins and extensor tendons. Atrophy of hand muscles and subcutaneous fat accompanied by skin laxity allow underlying tendons and veins to become prominent producing telltale signs of aging hands.

The backs of our hands receive more environmental and solar damage than other parts of our body, which causes the skin to age more rapidly; this results in volume loss, and a thin, emaciated, or malnourished appearance.

Many patients are pursuing facial and hand rejuvenation together with hands receiving increased interest in recent years. Your patients will be excited to know you can now provide hand rejuvenation.

Radiesse Dermal Filler for Hand Rejuvenation Calcium Hydroxylapatite Wrinkles and Veins on Hands

What you will learn from Dr. Emer

Although it is more common to inject fillers with a needle than using a cannula, needles can often cause more swelling and bruising post-treatment. Dr. Emer shows you how to use a blunt-tipped cannula to reduce pain and limit bruising.

Watch Dr. Emer inject dermal fillers like Radiesse and Restylane Lyft into the hollows of the hands. The goal is to hide tendons and veins and soften crepey skin and wrinkles. As the cannula glides easily beneath the skin, watch Dr. Emer demonstrate injecting tiny blebs of filler between the knuckles and the wrist and light massaging of the filler across the skin, ensuring an even distribution. Dr. Emer shows how he targets specific low-volume areas safely and effectively and tricks like warming the hands to assist with product distribution.

Hand injections are tricky due to the large number of veins and tendons in that area, and it is essential that you have extensive training before attempting hand rejuvenation procedures. Dr. Emer shows you how to place the fillers superficially and avoid the danger areas like tendon sheaths deep beneath the skin. You will learn what to do and what to avoid.
